Ladies in Stiches
‘Ladies in Stitches’ is a sewing group and we meet twice monthly in the village hall, during term time, on a Friday afternoon between 2 – 5pm. An average cost for the term is £11 per person, which pays for the hire of the hall and refreshments. During our afternoons a variety of hand / machine sewing and crafting techniques are worked on such as applique, crochet, dressmaking, embroidery, lacemaking, knitting, patchwork and quilting. Using these techniques a wide variety of items has been made over the years. Often a ufo (unfinished object) is brought in and completed much to the amazement of the individual.
Over the past few years we have held extra days for learning and completing a new and specific technique or item. The tutor is usually one of our members. There is an additional cost for attending these sessions. Friends are invited and often come along to the extra day sessions and new members are always welcome to join the club at any time.
Craft Day Here are some of us taking part in a craft day led by one of our members, Judith, At the end of the day we all took home at least one new shade and the more determined of us took two. And the best bit was not a stitch in sight!
