Go-ahead for Solar Panels project
Following a period of consultation, Long Sutton Parish Council has approved a project to install a Photo Voltaic Array (Solar Panels) on the roof of Long Sutton Village Hall.
As a result of the Government's green subsidy, this project will generate sufficient revenue to produce a surplus that the Council can use to support maintenance of the Village Hall and other community projects. The project is being financed through a Government loan facility that will be repaid over a nine year period. The income generated by the array will cover these repayments and the surplus used for the benefit of the parish. It is hoped that the majority of this will be used for the benefit of the Village Hall. Once the repayments are completed, all the income will be available for the parish.
Installation will commence on Monday the 7th of December and should should be completed within a week. The Council and the Village Hall committee apologise for any noise and inconvenience caused by the works but this will be restricted to daylight hours.
Our thanks go to Councillor George Farenden who has put a great deal of time and effort into developing this project and who has tirelessly negotiated his way through the myriad of paperwork and procedures to bring the project to fruition.
