FOLSC - Richard Digance Concert Oct 21st

Richard Digance2017 is a landmark year for Richard Digance, who is celebrating 50 years of performing by embarking on a special Golden Anniversary Tour. FOLSC are delighted to announce the tour will include a performance in Long Sutton Village Hall on Saturday 21st October, where Richard last visited back in 2011. During his amazing career he has received a BAFTA Nomination and a Gold Award from The British Academy of Composers, has played at 4,000 live shows, 62 British tours, published 14 books, recorded 32 albums, has had nearly 3 million You Tube hits and contributed songs for the London musical, ‘The Elephant Man.’ He supported Robin Williams at The London Palladium and Steve Martin in the USA. On TV, he played guitar with Queen’s Brian May, Status Quo and The Moody Blues and in the words of BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris, ‘Richard Digance is a National Treasure’ whilst Bill Bryson stated ‘Digance is brilliant and I’m delighted he contributed to my audio book The Road to Little Dribbling.’

Richard will be supported by one of the acoustic duo 'The Broadside Boys', who are embarking on their first national tour, just like Richard himself did 50 years ago. Suffolk based ‘the Boys’ are fast establishing a reputation on the folk scene, with a catalogue of songs inspired by their experience of country life in the East of England and the characters and events that have shaped them. The Broadside Boys are a dynamic and entertaining celebration of their rural heritage.We welcome all to come along and enjoy an amazing double bill evening of song, stories and laughter.

Tickets are available now from the Long Sutton Village shop priced at £12.00 adults and £6.00 for children. This one is almost certainly going to be a sell out so secure your tickets now to avoid disappointment.  Full bar services, including a barrel of Glastonbury Ales best bitter,  will be available before the performance and during the interval. Doors open at 7.00 and the performance starts at 7.30 pm.
